New Mexico is in the middle of switching its cannabis tracking system right now. Every licensed dispensary in the state is in the same window, and the part that matters to you is simple: nobody can take a delivery until it is over.

We saw that coming. On August 24, the day before the changeover started, we restocked all 14 Score420 locations. Not a partial top up. A full restock, every store, across every category.

That is why our shelves still look like this a week in.

What is actually happening

The state is retiring BioTrack, the platform every grower, lab, and dispensary in New Mexico has been required to report to, and moving everyone onto a new system called NMS2S. The Cannabis Control Division set the window for August 25 through September 4.

During that window, no dispensary in New Mexico can receive new product. Not us, not anyone. Deliveries are paused statewide until the new system is live.

Why we stocked up

Because a delivery pause only hurts if you walked into it empty.

We spent the weeks before the cutoff reconciling inventory with the state, getting our records clean ahead of the deadline, and then buying deep on the things our customers actually reach for. Carts, prerolls, flower, edibles, concentrates. The August 24 restock hit every location on the same day so no store started the window at a disadvantage.

Fourteen stores is a lot of shelf space to fill at once. It was a real effort by our buying team and our vendors, and it is the reason we can say this now instead of apologizing.

What this means for you this week

All 14 locations are open. Normal hours, normal service, all the way through September 4.

There is still real selection. Flower, prerolls, carts, edibles, concentrates, and accessories. If you have been putting off a trip because you assumed everything would be picked over, it is not.

The online menu may lag. While inventory moves between the two state systems, what shows online can run behind what is actually on the shelf. That cuts both ways. Sometimes we have more than the site shows. Call your store and we will check.

Checkout may be a little slower September 2 through 4. That is when stores physically move onto the new system. We are staffed for it.

The honest part

We are not going to tell you the shelf looks exactly like it did on August 24. It has been a week of selling with nothing coming in behind it, and some individual strains and flavors have already gone. That is arithmetic, not a surprise.

What we can tell you is that we planned for this and bought accordingly, and that our budtenders know the remaining menu well enough to put something good in your hand even if your usual pick has sold through.

One more thing worth knowing: restocking may not snap back the instant the window closes. Cannabis has to be lab tested before it can be sold, and New Mexico’s testing labs are on their own transition schedule too. Supply across the state will take a little time to normalize after September 4. We would rather say that now than have you wonder about it in two weeks.
